Jah Stitch aka Melbourne James was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies in 1949. Jah Stitch was the leading deejay with Lord Tippertone and Black Harmony Sound Systems. His debut album Danger Zone was produced by Errol Holt. Jah Stitch was shot prior to the One Love Peace Concert. He recovered to release No Dread Cant dead. Jah Stitch had hit songs including Militant Man, Jah Jah Forgive you, and undertook a successful tour of Britain. He re-emerged as Major Stitch selecting tunes for Sugar Minotts Youth Promotion sound system. He recorded with Trevor Douglas and Jah Woosh and his career was documented on a compilation released through Simply Red’s Blood and Fire label.
