Garnett Silk was born in Manchester Jamaica in 1966.He was destined for international stardom emerging as one of the most exciting rising stars in the eighties dancehall scene in Jamaica.He died tragically in 1994. Garnet Silk first took the stage at the Soul Remembrance sound system at the tender age of 12. The tiny toaster impressed the audiences as he began to dj regularly. In 1999 Having inked an international distribution deal with Atlantic Records, Silk now entered Tuff Gong studios with producer Errol Brown and the cream of Jamaicas session men to begin work on his second album. The world is left with Silk’s rich legacy of songs, and his influence remains as strong now as when he was alive.
