Culture Roots Reggae

A Jamaican harmony trio formed in the seventies, Culture Reggae Band consisted of Joseph Hill on lead vocals and Albert Walker and Kenneth Dayes on backing vocals. Culture worked with Robbie Shakespeare, Sly Dunbar, Ansel Collins, Cedric Brooks and percussionist Sticky. Cultures albums were distributed by Virgin Records and they began to get a large following outside of Jamaica. Recently Virgin has been re-issuing the seventies reggae catalog so their albums are now available again. Culture and friends have been around for the past twenty years and are still going strong. Joseph Hill still has a fiery and energetic stage presence. They have remained true to their cultural roots and incorporate new sounds and ideas into their mix and this has why they have remained some of the most consistent and reliable reggae musicians working today.
