Augustus Pablo Jamaican Reggae Sound of the Seventies

Augustus Pablo played a key role in the musical history of Jamaica in his role as both a musician and a producer and he helped to shape reggae so much in this time that his music can easily be described as ‘the sound of the Seventies’. He was born in 1954 in St Andrew Jamaica. King Tubby used to work with a lot of producers, but Augustus Pablo was one of his favourites.Tubby would put his heart and soul into anything that Pablo brought him. The Melodica had never been taken seriously by professional musicians and Pablo was responsible for putting this sound and instrument on the map.
