Dreadlocks Spiritual Connection

Rasta Locs and growing locks is related to the lions and is inspired by the bible. Known as dreadlocks, dreads, Locks Sisterlocks or Locs they are very spiritual to the I that follows the Rastafarian way of livity.‘Live simply in service and in peace with the Lock hair symbolised.’ They are not to be exhibited to all with vanity or as a statement of fashion.

Our hair contains our own individual DNA and a Rastafarian friend of mine once told me his grandmother told him to bury his hair and not let anyone ever get a hold of it. Hair is really an antennae that can receive and transmit energy. Hair is like high tension wires that transmit divine energy through the crown chakra and the inspiration from the Head Creator or Jah Rastafari. The cruel evil suppression and exploitation of indigenous people of the African nations by the “myriad hypocrital and controlling religions” over the past five hundred years has forced them to straighten and cut their magnificent hair that would naturally turn to Locks.

During the Civil War in North America, the army captured the best indigenous Indian trackers to utilise their abilities for themselves. The first thing they did was cut off their hair and they couldn’t track anymore. There link to their intuition and divine was broken.

There are many references in the bible to the spiritual significance of Rasta Locs.

Rastafarians take the vow of the Nazarites, one of which is to never cut their hair and let their locks grow. The word Nazarite is from Nazar, meaning unshorn. Jesus was said to be a Nazarite. Woolly nappy hair if simply washed and dried but never combed or brushed, will naturally entwine into long locks as it grows. Samson, the most famous example of locked hair, had seven locks. (JG.13:5,16:17,19)

Judges 16:19 (King James Version)
19And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.

Judges 16:13 (King James Version)
13And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.

Song of Solomon 4:3 (King James Version)
1Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.

These quotes from the bible indicate that the significance of dreadlocks goes back way before the rastafarian movement to the times of King Solomon.

The livity of Jah Rastafari is in accordance with the laws of nature. Increasingly in our modern society many people choose to wear the Rasta Locks and to use synthetic Locks and Lock hair extensions. All races are training their hair into Locks even if it is not the natural way their hair grows. Some wear them as a fashion or trend or to express vanity, others wear them in a positive way to express their rebellion at the system or to express the natural way of livity.

Locks can no longer be seen as a symbol of purity. Wolves in sheep’s clothing are everywhere and a profound ignorance, abuse and disrespect for the beauty of life is running rampant on planet earth. Whether this relates to the food, medicine, fear, violence, poverty, classism, racism, our water, our forests, our soil, artificial intelligence, microchipped people. The list is endless. Fire burn a weak heart. In these times of great tribulation look for a strong heart, rasta seed is everywhere.

I loved the description and you got everything right but when talking about locks call them locks. The words dreads is and American word and added to locks way back when to describe our hair as dreadful, ugly or evil. The original word even said in the bible is just locks.

Beautiful testimony. Once I read the passage about the Nazarite in the bible, all things changed for me from the inside out. Loc’d for a year now. My hair finally feels at peace. Bless

Went through this – this weekend. I previously had half locs and half my natural hair but I would brush and comb my hair straighten it and leave the locs alone to grow. I’ve done that for 4 years and I meditated on it Friday night then again Saturday morning and all I hear is Jah loud and clear telling me to complete my mission. I began parting and twisting as I did to start my previous locs and I finished.. I meditated again yesterday to hear looks great feels better but why do the system that’s taught? Today I meditated and unraveled the twists I made in the sunlight and prayed over my hair “create my veil the way it is supposed to be” and today I’ve taken out places that I felt were done in acts of vanity and I will see where Most High leads me today.
